Reliving Father’s Day, Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance style.

If there is a constant in Beverly Hills for the last 26 years on Father’s Day, it has been celebrating the day with family, friends, and of course, fellow automotive and luxury enthusiasts at the city’s largest annually held public event. The Beverly Exchange once again partook in the spectacle that is the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance. A beloved tradition for many, this year held on June 16, brings the design, evolution, and horsepower of the automotive world to the epicenter of luxury, fashion, and lifestyle that is Rodeo Drive.

The Concours with the Beverly Hills effect

While traditional Concours events are held at luscious golf courses around the world, The Rodeo Drive Concourse d’Elegance places the machines of past, present, and future right where they belong, on the open road. Don’t get us wrong, the Concours theme of vintage outfits and ensembles of brightly colored suits and chic tulle hats and fascinators is still a staple, which adds in creating the unique culture of the event.

The cars. Oh, my goodness the cars!

Yes, we are finally at the point of talking about the cars! From Pre-War, to Classics and Vintage, to Modern and Exotic, to Electric Cars of the future, we saw them all. Ever seen a Ghost? The 1925 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost took home this year’s Best of Show award. Others such as a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster caught our eye, as well as appreciating cars from the collection of Petersen Museum founding chairman, Bruce Meyer, including his 1989 RUF CTR.

A welcoming theme of the 26th Annual Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance is the presence of modern luxury and exotics, as well as prototypes and vehicles of the not so distant future. The Kode57 by Ken Okuyama Design was a popular choice to add to your Instagram account for your “Spending Father’s Day on Rodeo like…” post. Right along with the Kode57 in popularity was the Tachyon Speed, a fully electric hypercar by RAESR Automotive. Observing the critical lines of their functional design prepares us to understand how Beverly Coachcraft, as your number one choice for auto collision and repair, must continue to evolve to be able to bring these cars back to life if an unfortunate accident damages their immaculate canvas.

The Beverly Exchange wrap up

We’d like to thank the city of Beverly Hills for once again providing the venue of Rodeo Drive for the 35,000+ of us that love automotive and luxury while spending it with family and friends. Mark your calendars for the 2020 Father’s Day event, as we’re sure you’ll enjoy an experience remembered for a lifetime. #OnlyOnRodeo
